Photoshop Montage for media arts

The Only technical steps I used in this process was the opacity to the planets and other layers and adding the drop shadow effect to the silhouette and the glow on some layers. My ideas for this montage did change a little at first I tried using a stamp for Saturn but it didn’t look right so I went and found a non-copyrighted image instead. Your eyes move starting on the right and going up then left after that you start going down then left then up then left then down then right. Motivation there was no artist in particular that influenced me. My motivation came from a personal interest of space and planets and it’s also a shared interest with my father. How I balanced the composition is the size of some layers and the transparency as well as trying to keep layers on both sides. I didn’t use a whole lot of movement I just moved the layers to not only look good but fill up the page at the same time  Visual Ideas I wanted to explore in my work were me as a kid looking through my father’s atlas and always being interested by the solar system bit in that book.  The Elements I feel are the most interesting and successful are the layers themselves because they tell the story and they complete the picture. The one part of the process that really surprised me was the middle bit knowing I was almost done with this picture that I had created with little knowledge I had of doing this in Photoshop but With additional time I would change some of the layers to look a little bit more 3D (extrude them) maybe even try and find some better quality pictures I would also try and put some of the layers in different spots to see how they would look I would also try and put the glow effect on more layers like the planets. I would also change the saturation of some layers and maybe even a picture of me.
